I just spent 6 hours canoeing down the Rum River from the North Country Park in St. Francis to the Central Regional Park in Anoka. The only drawback to the trip was the bugs, black flies specifically, which were absolutely horrible. I definitely would do this type of trip again, but either in the spring or late fall.
